Something from Nothing

297x420 Graphite illustration on plain 120gsm paper

A illustration that started as just a warm up sketch, which ties into the name also. The mass of tentacles is just "a something from nothing" as was the whole process of the illustration. I did not plan much ahead, only that I was going to draw more tentacles.

I mainly used Caran D'Aches Grafwood graphite pencils throughout the whole drawing (range 2H-9B). For the details I had an 0.35 mechanical pencil that helped me to get the finer details and push the darker graphite around. For the smudging I had cotton swaps, just plaine pieces of cotton you can use to clean your skin and of course, smudge sticks.
